Today’s guest on the podcast is national award-winning journalist, author and sports scientist Alex Hutchinson (@sweatscience). As an athlete and two-time finalist at the Canadian Olympic trails himself, Alex is incredibly familiar with endurance sports and how to optimize your performance for success.

Receiving his masters in journalism from Columbia University, Alex has built an incredibly successful career writing for esteemed websites such as Runners World and Outside, where he distills all of his research and findings into practical articles for his readers. Alex also regularly contributes to other publications and was one of the few reporters that was granted access to Nike's Breaking 2 top-secret project to try and break the 2 hour marathon time barrier.

Most recently, Alex published the incredibly fascinating New York Times Bestselling Book "Endure: Mind, Body and the Curiously Elastic Limits of Human Performance" which combines his cutting edge scientific research with his incredible storytelling ability into one amazing book.

In today's discussion with Alex we discuss the most recent marathon barrier that was broken by Eliud Kipchoge, how the mind plays a crucial role when it comes to physical performance, ideal training schedules for endurance athletes and much more.

This was honestly an incredible discussion and I am so happy to share it with you

So without further ado, please meet Alex
